Centre Cross Country teams win Georgetown College Invitational
The Centre men's and women's cross country teams took first place at the Georgetown College Invitational on Saturday, Sept. 26 in Georgetown, Ky. The men's team finished with a total of 19 points and the women's team finished with 22 points.
Centre men's team had five runners finish in the top ten. Junior Clinton Cahall (Georgetown, Ohio) took first place overall at the meet with a time of 27:34. Sophomore Willie Polio (Owensboro, Ky.) came in second overall in the race with a time of 27:52.
In third for the Colonels and fourth overall was sophomore Graham Campbell (Cincinnati, Ohio) finishing in 28:11. Senior Jason Parks (Louisville, Ky.) finished the meet in fifth place with a 28:23 and junior Sam Morgan (Danville, Ky.) rounded out the top five for Centre with a seventh place finish and a time of 28:38.
The Centre women's team had seven runners place in the top ten. Sophomore Bekah Rehkamp (Florence, Ky.) led the Centre women with a second place overall finish completing the race in 21:14. Senior Lauren McCafferty (Newport, Ky.) came in third place overall with a time of 21:32. Freshman Hillary Dawe (Charlotte, N.C.) came in fourth overall finishing the race in 22:01.
Senior Bethany Pratt (Richmond, Ky.) was fourth for the Centre women and sixth overall completing the race in 22:53. Rounding out the top five for Centre was freshman Annie Wigginton (Bloomfield, Ky.) coming in seventh overall with a time of 23:04.
Britney Chesser of Georgetown College won the women's meet with a time of 20:40
The men and women next compete at the Louisville Classic on Saturday, October 3rd, in Louisville, Ky.
