Centre women's cross country places 15th at the Louisville Classic
The Centre women's cross country team finished 15th out of 35 teams at the Louisville Classic on Saturday, October 3rd in Louisville, Ky. Centre posted 376 points for the top five runners.
Sophomore Bekah Rehkamp (Florence, Ky.) was the top Centre runner finishing in 39th place with a time of 20:11.
Senior Lauren McCafferty placed 66th coming in with a time of 20:41. Senior Bethany Pratt (Richmond, Ky.) ran the race in 20:56, which was good enough for 82nd place and Freshman Annie Wigginton (Bloomfield, Ky.) came in 126th with a 21:39. Junior Megan Miller (Premia de Mar, Spain) was the fifth runner for Centre coming in 128th with a 21:40.
Senior Francince Nzilampa from Lindenwood University was the overall winner at the Louisville Classic.
The University of Kentucky won the meet with 75 points. Lindenwood University came in second place with 117 points and Queens University of Charlotte came in third with 147 points.
Centre's women's cross country team competed in the "blue" race, which was filled with small schools and schools' second teams. The Louisville Classic also had a "gold" race that featured mostly NCAA Division I programs.
The women will run next at the Wilmington Fall Classic on Friday, October 16th in Wilmington, Ky.
