Faulkner named SCAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week
After another pair of wins last week, Centre College sophomore field hockey player Sally Faulkner (Louisville, Ky.) has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Field Hockey Offensive Player-of-the-Week for matches played Monday, Sept. 24 through Sunday, Sept. 30. 
Faulkner continued her outstanding play in wins against both Transylvania University and Sewanee-The University of the South this past week with game-winning points in each match.
Against Transylvania, Faulkner scored her fourth goal of the season late in the first-half for the game-winning goal in a 4-0 Colonels' win Wednesday, Sept. 26 in Danville, Ky.
Three days later against Sewanee, the sophomore played a strong game in attack and defense through regulation and made her impact felt even more in overtime with a beautiful game-winning back-door assist six minutes into the first overtime period to keep Centre undefeated on the season.
The Colonels, now 10-0 overall and 4-0 in league play, will return to action Wednesday, Oct. 3, when they travel to Louisville, Ky. to play Division II member Bellarmine University. The match is set to start at 6 p.m. |
