Johnstone named to two All-American teams

Centre College junior field hockey player Teresa Johnstone (Louisville, Ky.) has been named to two different All-American teams, earning second team recognition by the National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) and third team honors by Womensfieldhockey.com.

Johnstone was the only Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) player to be named to the 2007 Longstreth/NFHCA Division III All-American Team. An SCAC co-Offensive Player of the Year in 2007, Johnstone tallied 10 goals (2nd in SCAC) and had six assists for 26 total points this year.

The lone SCAC representative on the Womensfieldhockey.com Division III All-American Team as well, the junior forward was named to the all-SCAC team for the third time in her career and was also named to the NFHCA Division III All-Great Lakes Region First Team.

In only three years at Centre, Johnstone has become the all-time points leader in school history, totaling 57 points (22 goals, 13 assists) in her three-year career. She is the first Centre field hockey player to be named to an All-American Team.

Johnstone helped lead the Colonels to one of the most successful seasons in school history, tallying the most overall wins (13) and league wins (6) in SCAC history. Centre was also the first SCAC team to ever qualify for the NCAA Division III Field Hockey Championships.
