Colonels lose in overtime, 2-1, to Tigers
The Centre College field hockey team lost 2-1 in overtime to the Sewanee Tigers, on Saturday, Nov. 1. The Colonels are now 11-6 on the year and 4-3 in the SCAC.
After battling back from a 1-0 halftime defect the Colonels fell to the Tigers in overtime. The lone goal by the Colonels was scored by senior Teresa Johnstone (Louisville, Ky.). It was Johnstone's team leading 12th goal on the season.
On the day the Colonels out shot the Tigers, 13-11, and had more corner kick opportunities, 13-6. Despite the shot advantage the Colonels could not pull out the victory and have now lost two straight games.
The Colonels will look to right the ship going into the SCAC conference tournament this upcoming weekend, Nov. 7-9, hosted by Centre College in Danville, Ky.
