Football hosts inaugural Jamboree Barbecue Classic

On Sunday, May 6th the Centre College football team hosted the first annual "Jamboree Barbecue Classic." This classic featured a highly spirited Alumni "fastbreak" football game played before our annual 7-on-7 pass skeleton scrimmage in Farris Stadium, in Danville, Ky.

The "Black" squad alumni featuring Andrew Habeeb, Travis Bell, Patrick Newman, John Penn, Joe Guthrie, Taylor Vaughn, Justin Roe, Casey Krill, Chris Counts and Carter Conley defeated the "White" squad featuring Keith Tarter, Brian Ellis, David Cress, Johnston Boyd, Chuck Beard, Josh Logsdon, Daniel Nipp, Will Hinkle, Lou Brenner, Vinnie Matracia, Stephen Dexter, and Todd Frakes by the score of 48-43.

Travis Bell (2001) was named the MVP of the Alumni Jamboree Classic game. Please mark your calendars for next year's alumni game played on Sunday May 4 at 5 p.m. in Farris Stadium. Fortunately, there were no injuries, though there were several complains of soreness.
