D3football.com chooses Hay for Team of the Week
One day after being selected as the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Defensive Player of the Week, Centre College senior linebacker Adam Hay (Cincinnati, Ohio) has been chosen to the D3football.com's Team of the Week for games played Saturday, Sept. 6.
Hay, a 2007 D3football.com All-American and 2008 D3football.com Pre-season All-American, was named to the team of the week for the third time in the last two years after posting a monster day in the Colonels' win over visiting Hanover.
The senior defender picked up where he left off in 2007 by posting a game-high 15 tackles, including six solo and nine assisted, 2.0 tackles for loss, one sack, one fumble recovery and intercepted a pass and returned it 46 yards setting up a Colonel score. With his six solo tackles, Hay moved into seventh place on Centre's career solo tackle list with 176.
Centre will look for its second win of the season Saturday, Sept. 13 against Maryville College. The game will be the first road contest for the Colonels and is set to begin at 1:30 p.m. in Maryville, Tenn. |
