Sophomore Jonathan Pinque (Athens, Ala.) was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week for games played Saturday, Sept. 26. Pinque, a 5'11", 190 pounds running back had career highs in both rushing yards with 181 and touchdowns, recording three in Centre's 34-27 win over Austin College. Pinque also caught three passes in the game for 16 yards.

Pinque's previous carrier high came last year against Rhodes College, where he ran for 152-yards. In the game against Austin College Pinque's 181 yards came on 22 carries, averaging 8.2 yards per carry.

Pinque's first touchdown came in the second quarter on a five-yard run to make the score 20-13. Centre's next touchdown would come in the third quarter on a one-yard run from Pinque to tie Austin, 20-20. Pinque had rushed for 17 yards on the previous three plays. Pinque's final touchdown, came on a 15-yard run, in the fourth quarter, where he broke several tackles before reaching the end zone to give Centre the 34-27 advantage.

The running back was also named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Co-Offensive player of the Week for games played Saturday, Sept. 26.

The Colonels are undefeated at 4-0, which hasn't happened since 2005, and improved to 2-0 in the SCAC after the win over Austin College.

Centre's next match will take place on Saturday, Oct. 3 against conference opponent Sewanee. Kick-off is scheduled for 1:30 p.m. at Farris Stadium in Danville, Ky.
