Six Centre players qualify for Kentucky State Amateur
LOUISVILLE, KY - Four returning golfers and two incoming freshman all qualified for the Kentucky State Amateur Golf Championship that will be held at the Big Springs Golf Club in Louisville, KY June 12-14.
Co-captain Derek Tingle, Junior Tyler Griffith, and sophomore Tyler Current qualified at the Danville Country Club while sophomore Chris Conkright did the same as a medallist at the Madisonville Country Club. Incoming freshmen Gray Hunter and Chris Morris also qualified at the Belfonte and Maysville Country Clubs respectively.
"This is amazing for our golf program to be represented by six players in the state tournament," remarked Brian Chafin, coordinator of golf at Centre College. Chafin added, "I am very proud of these young men, and I am already looking forward to our fall season."
