Colonels fall to Rhodes in dual match
The Centre College men's golf team traveled to Bartlett, Tenn. for a dual match against Rhodes College and lost to the Lynx 291-307, Saturday, Sept. 16.
The Lynx, which ended the 2006 spring season ranked #8 nationally, had the top three finishers, including the overall winner John Jennison. Jennison shot a 70 on the par 72 course for the win.
Junior Derek Tingle (Louisville, Ky.) was the top finisher for the Colonels, shooting a 74 for a fourth place finish. Freshman Tyler Current (Louisville, Ky.) followed right behind Tingle with a 75 for fifth place.
Sophomore Tyler Griffith (Marengo, Ind.), junior Rus Whalen (Georgetown, Ky.) and freshman Chris Conkright (Owensboro, Ky.) each finished the day with an 80 to tie for seventh place.
Centre will next participate in the Rhodes College Invitational, Sunday and Monday, Sept. 17-18 at the Tunica National Golf Course in Tunica Resorts, Miss.
