Men's Golf News Records fall as Centre men win Old Bridge Invitational Sophomore Chris Morris (Maysville, Ky.) set a new individual school record and the Centre College men's golf team broke a school record on its way to winning the Old Bridge Fall Invitational Saturday, Oct. 4 at the Old Bridge Golf Course in Danville, Ky. The Colonels shot a 276 (-12) to set a new team low in school history. Transylvania was second with a 292 (+4) followed by Spalding University with a 294 (+6) rounding out the top three. Morris posted a 64 (32-32) to break a school record for a low round by an individual in school history. The sophomore won the event by three strokes over Transylvania's Greg Turcotte, who finished with a 67. Junior Chris Conkright (Owensboro, Ky.) tied for third on the day with a 70 (34-36). Senior Tyler Griffith (Marengo, Ind.), sophomore Gray Hunter (Ashland, Ky.) and freshman Justin Wagner (Louisville, Ky.) all tied for sixth place with 71's, while junior Mike Janok (Louisville, Ky.) and freshman Max Manning (Lebanon, Ky.) tied for one ninth two strokes back with 73's.
Earning all-tournament honors for the Colonels were Morris, Griffith, Wagner and Conkright. Centre will next compete in the Wittenberg Fall Invitational Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 11-12 at the Windy Noll Country Club in Springfield, Ohio.
