Centre golf teams finish fall season in top 25, Morris ranked #1 in region
Both men's and women's golf teams completed the fall season with Top 25 rankings. Junior co-captain Chris Morris (Maysville, Ky.) is ranked first in the South Region in scoring versus par with a 72.00 average.
The men are ranked 21st in the NCAA Division III by Golfstat, the official ranking source by the NCAA. Besides being ranked number one in the South Region, Morris is ranked eighth in head to head play in Division III by Golfstat.
"This was a good fall for the men and Chris Morris since we did not shine in our first few tournaments, but we did finish strong," coordinator of golf Brian Chafin said.
The Centre women are ranked 21st by Golf World Magazine, which ranks colleges throughout the year.
"I think this is a nice honor considering we were without sophomore Emily Bachert (Bowling Green, Ky.) and junior Paige Burton (Frankfort, Ky.) all fall," Chafin said.
"I think when we are at full strength we will improve on the course and in the rankings," Chafin finished.
Both teams are off until winter break where they will spend a week in Orlando getting ready for the spring season.
