Men’s golf team wins the Jim English Invitational
The Centre men's golf team took first place at the Jim English Invitational, which took place on Thursday, Sept. 10 at the Danville Country Club. Centre finished with an overall score of 302.
Centre had five players finish in the top ten at the Jim English Invitational. Junior Chris Morris (Maysville, Ky.) led the Colonels with a third place overall finish and a score of 72.
Senior Chris Conkright (Owensboro, Ky.) tied for fourth place with an overall score of 73. Freshman Kenyon Cook (Lexington, Ky.) tied for sixth with a 74. Junior Kyle Forte (Gilbertsville, Ky.) tied for eighth place with a 75 and freshman Jason Ginn (Atlanta, Ga.) tied for 10th place and an overall score of 76.
The overall winner of the Jim English Invitational was Matthew Martin of Transylvania University.
Kentucky Wesleyan finished the Invitational in second with a score of 308. Spaulding University came in third place overall with a 310.
The Centre men's golf team will continue their fall schedule on Friday and Saturday, Sept. 11th and 12th at the Transylvania University Fall Invitational, which will be played at the University Club of Kentucky. |
