Men's golf team places ninth at Rhodes College Fall Classic
The Centre College men's golf team places ninth at the Rhodes College Men's Fall Classic Monday, Sept. 21, which was played at Tunica National Golf Course. Centre placed ninth out of 20 teams.
Centre had an overall score of 606 after the two day event. The Colonels were tied for seventh after the first day of play with a score of 296. On the second day of play Centre finished with a score of 310. Centre's second team finished 19th out of 20 teams with a score of 646.
Junior Chris Morris (Maysville, Ky.) led the Colonels in the Classic where he tied for third with four other players with an overall score of 144, which was good enough for even. On the first day of competition Morris finished the round with a 71. Morris finished with a 73 on the second and final day of play.
Senior Chris Conkright (Owensboro, Ky.) tied for 38th with an overall score of 152. Freshman Patrick Davidson (Louisville, Ky.) finished in 50th with two others with a scored of 154. Sophomore Randy Boll (Dayton, Ohio) came in 71st with a 159 and sophomore John Hester (Louisville, Ky.) finished with a 162, which was good enough for 83rd place.
Huntingdon College won the Rhodes College Men's Fall Classic with an overall team score of 581. Southwestern University took second place with a score of 582 and Transylvania University, Rhodes College, and Ogelthorpe University tied for third with a score of 590.
Matthew Rebitch from Ogelthorpe won the Classic with a score of 142.
Centre will continue its fall season October 3rd with a home match in Danville, Ky. at Old Bridge Golf Course.
