Men's golf team finishes second at the Transylvania Fall Invite
The Centre College men's golf team took second place Saturday, Sept. 12, at the Transylvania Fall Invite, which was played at University Club Blue. The golf team placed second out of ten teams.
Centre finished with a score of 601 beating Bellarmine University by one point and Transylvania by two points. Rhodes won the tournament with a score of 599. Centre's second team took fifth place with a score of 630.
The Colonels had a first round score of 304. In the second round the team finished with a score of 297, which was the low team round of the day and the lowest team score of the season.
Junior Chris Morris (Maysville, Ky.) led the Colonels with a 72 on the first day and a 73 on the second day for an overall finish of 145 earning him second place. Morris was named to the All-Tournament team. Freshman Patrick Davidson (Louisville, Ky.) tied for fifth place with a 149.
Junior Kyle Forte (Gilbertsville, Ky.) and sophomore Randy Boll (Dayton, Ohio) tied with two other players for 11th place with a score of 154. Freshman Jason Ginn (Atlanta, Ga.), sophomore John Hester (Louisville, Ky.), and senior Chris Conkright (Owensboro, Ky.) tied for 15th with three other players.
Bryan Ratterman of Bellarmine University won the tournament with an overall score of 144, which earned him a spot on the All-Tournament Team. Other members of the All-Tournament Team were Bill Bazzel (Rhodes), Matthew Martin (Transy), and Scott Wallace (Rhodes).
Centre will continue its fall season September 20-21 when they play at Tunica National Golf Course in the Rhodes Fall Collegiate Classic in Tunica, MS.
