Brian Chafin is in his sixth full year as Director of Athletics and Recreation at Centre College after being appointed in the spring 2002. He served the College as an Associate Athletics Director and Head Men's Soccer coach for thirteen years and his teams won four SCAC championships and participated in the NCAA Soccer Championships in three consecutive years. Chafin was named SCAC Coach of the years four times and finished his coaching career ranked 15th on the all-time active coaching winning list.
As Coach Chafin begins his fourth year as coordinator of the men's and women's golf programs, he has already put his finger prints on the teams. Joining a solid core of returning players are several men and women that have had outstanding high school and amateur golf experience. The golf programs are lining up to be extremely competitive within the SCAC and South Region of the NCAA.
Coach Chafin came to Centre from Clarkson University in New York where he spent 16 years coaching men's soccer, men's basketball, women's basketball and men's tennis. His soccer teams competed in six postseason championships and he took his 1989 women's basketball team to the NCAA Championships which were hosted at Centre College.
