Fall Golf Rankings Released
The NCAA Fall Golf Rankings have been released with the Centre College Men's Team ranked 11th in the South Region and the Women's Team ranked 15th in Region 2, which covers the south and mid-west.
Methodist College heads the Men's region and DePauw University is ranked number 1 on the Women's side. Other SCAC Schools represented in the Women's top 15 are Southwestern University, Oglethorpe University, and Trinity University; while both Oglethorpe and Rhodes College are included in the Men's top 15.
This is the first time that both the Men's and Women's teams have been regionally ranked as they go through a rebuilding period under Coordinator of Golf, Brian Chafin and PGA Professional Bruce Brown. "The SCAC is one of the most competitive conferences in NCAA Division III," remarked Coach Chafin. "If we can compete in the SCAC, we can represent Centre very well in the Region and Nationally," added Coach Chafin.
The Golf teams begin their spring season with a trip to Orlando during Winter Break to practice at the nationally renowned Isleworth Country Club before playing a match against Webber International University.
