Golf makes improvements at Jekyll Island Collegiate Classic
The Centre Women's Golf team improved two places from last years finish at the Jekyll Island Collegiate Classic as they finished 19 compared to 21last spring.
Leading the way for the Colonels was Katie McKenna who registered scores of 83 and 84 before finishing with a total of 260 for the three day Classic. Captain Melanie Goff had a first day score of 82 and finished with a three day total of 261 followed by Andrea Bishop (285), Marissa Cianchetti (291) and Lindsay Maurer (292).
“We recorded some nice scores during the Classic and hope to be more consistent as the season goes on” said Coach Chafin. “I saw some real signs of improvement and desire to score from our team this past week which will only make us better at the SCAC Championships in April.” The Colonels will host the Centre College Spring Invitational at Danville Country Club on April 4 at 10:00am.
