Centre places 63 on SCAC Academic Honor Roll
SUWANEE, Ga. - The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) announced its Student-Athlete Academic Honor Roll today for the 2006 fall term and a record 573 student-athletes made the list. Since its inception in 1997, over 10,500 male and female student-athletes have been recognized for their contributions in the classroom.

To qualify, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade-point average of 3.25 for the term and be a regular member of a varsity athletic team in a sport sponsored by the conference.

Women's Soccer led the fall sports by placing 19 student-athletes on the honor roll while football came in a close second adding 14 to the list. The remaining fall sports ended in a stair step fashion with field hockey placing eight on the honor roll, men's soccer adding seven, men's cross country with six, volleyball placing five, and women's cross country adding four.

Of the 62 student-athletes on the honor roll, exactly half of them, 31, qualified for at least the second time. Seven of those have been named to the honor roll at least three times and one (Eileen Schilling) earned Academic all-SCAC all four years.
