SCAC honors five Centre men's soccer players
Following a season in which the Centre College men's soccer team went 12-4-1 overall and 6-3 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), five Centre men's soccer players were selected to the All-SCAC Men's Soccer Team.

As voted on by the league's head coaches, senior David Horne (Louisville, Ky.), junior Nick Judah (Louisville, Ky.), sophomore Chris Baumann (Louisville, Ky.), junior Chris Creger (Mount Pleasant, S.C.) and senior Derek Roberts (Knoxville, Tenn.) were each awarded for their efforts on the year and named to the All-SCAC Team.
Horne, a first team selection for the second straight year, continued to be one of the top defenders in the SCAC. Horne was second on the team in goals scored with six and added four assists for 16 total points. The senior was named the SCAC Defensive Player-of-the-Week once this season and was also selected to the Kiwanis Classic All-Tournament Team. Horne was also a second team selection as a sophomore.
Judah, a second team pick, led Centre and tied for fifth in the leagu e with 11 goals, while adding an assist for a team-leading 23 points. The junior forward also ranked fifth in the SCAC in goals per game (0.69), sixth in points per game (1.44) and 10th in total points (23). Judah was also selected to the second team last year.
Baumann, Creger and Roberts were all named to the third team. Baumann was second on the team with six assists. He also scored one goal for eight points on the year. Creger posted seven shutouts in goal for the Colonels making 58 saves in 16 matches. The junior goalkeeper ranked second in the SCAC in goals against average (0.84) and save percentage (.817). Roberts led the team and ranked fifth in the SCAC in assists with eight. He also scored four goals for 16 total points in his final year. Roberts was also a second team selection in 2005.
"It takes a team effort in soccer for one player to stand out," Centre head coach Jeb Burch said. "I can speak for our group when I say we are all proud of these players," Burch added. This is the second consecutive year Centre has had five players named to the all-conference team. This season also marks the fifth straight year the Colonels have finished with 11 wins or more and the 15th season overall since the inception of the SCAC.
