David Horne earns SCAC honors
Senior defender David Horne from Louisville, Ky., has been selected the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference's (SCAC) Men's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the- Week for matches played from Friday, September 2 through Monday, September 5.
 The senior started off his senior campaign in dominating fashion, leading the Colonels to an opening game 3-0 win over visiting Hanover College.
Horne, a captain and the runner-up for SCAC Defensive Player-of-the-Year a season ago, thwarted Hanover's direct attack all night, winning every 50/50 head ball while anchoring the Colonels' defense in their first shut-out of the season.

The Colonels, now 1-0 on the year, will return to action, Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 9-10, when they host the 17th Annual Bob Allen Nissan Classic. Principia College will play Aurora University in Saturday's first match at 5:30 p.m., followed by Centre squaring off against the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater at 7:30 p.m.
