Boyer, Hinton named All-Region by NSCAA
Centre College men's soccer recently had two players named to the NSCAA/adidas All-South Central Region Team. Senior defender Adam Boyer (Louisville, Ky.) was named to the first team while junior forward Richard Hinton (Ft. Wayne, Ind.) was named to the second team.
Boyer was previously named to the All-SCAC first team. Boyer in 2008 started in all 20 games for the Colonels. During the season Boyer recorded seven goals and three assists. Three of Boyer's seven goals were game winners. Boyer also received two votes for SCAC Defender-of-the-Year honors. Boyer was also awarded by the NSCAA in 2007 and 2006 when he was named to the All-South Central Region third team in both years.
Hinton also had an impressive year for the Colonels recording both six goals and six assists on the year. In the 2008 season Hinton was named to the All-SCAC third team.
Head Coach Jeb Burch commented on the success of both Boyer and Hinton by saying, "I can speak for our team when I say that we are all very happy for Hinton and Boyer. They join an impressive group of Centre players who over the years have been named to the All-Region teams."
The Centre College men's soccer team has now had at least one player since the 2003 season named to an NSCAA/adidas All-Region team.
