Centre recruit to be featured on Fox Sports
Fox Soccer Channel will feature incoming freshman William Frentz as part of their coverage of the 2009 U.S. Youth Soccer National Championships held in Massachusetts.
Frentz's team advanced to the finals of the US Youth Soccer title game on July 26, but fell short in close game, losing 2-1 to the crowned national champions from South Carolina. The U.S. Youth Soccer series began with over 10,000 teams and 185,000 players competing for 55 state association titles. Twelve national champions were crowned in Massachusetts from U14 (under 14) to U19 (under 19), for both boys and girls.
The National Championship Show will be on the Fox Soccer Channel on August sixth at 8:00pm. In addition to game highlights from the national tournament, there will be a special feature on Frentz. He was selected as one of eight players highlighted for the show, and the feature focuses on his life successes in spite of his deafness, including discussion of his cochlear implant and his selection last summer to play with the U.S. Deaf Men's Soccer squad when they played in the World Deaf Football Championship in Patras, Greece.
