Assistant Men's Soccer Coach signed by Lightning
Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach Adam Boyer has been signed to his first professional soccer contract by the Louisville Lightning, of the Professional Arena Soccer League (PASL-Pro).
In 2008, Boyer was named as an NSCAA/Adidas All-American and NSCAA/Adidas Academic All-American, becoming the first player in Centre soccer program history to be named to both teams in the same year. A three-time captain, Boyer was also a two-time All-SCAC 1st Team selection and 3-time NSCAA/Adidas Regional All-American.
In August of this year, former Assistant Men’s Soccer Coach David Horne stepped down from his position, being named as the General Manager and Head Coach of the Louisville Lightning. Boyer became the new assistant at Centre, while Horne began preparations for the Lightning’s first season as a professional soccer organization.
Just three months later, Boyer has been signed by the Louisville Lightning and will once again begin playing under Horne when the season kicks off in two weeks, “I am very excited to have signed a contract with the Lightning. It is certainly a great moment and I am looking forward to continuing playing under Horne and for this organization.” Boyer said. “Playing and coaching at Centre, both under and alongside Jeb and David, has certainly led me to this point.”
The Lightning open their season at home, at Mockingbird Valley Soccer Complex, on Friday, Nov. 13th for a conference match-up against 1790 Cincinnati Express.
