Distler named to the D3Futbol.com Team of the Week
Centre College sophomore Tony Distler (Louisville, Ky.) was named to the D3Futbol.com Team of the Week for his exceptional performance during the week of Sept. 14-21.
Centre played in three matches during the week of Sept. 14-21, in which Distler helped lead the Colonels defense in allowing only two goals in three games.
The Colonels hosted Hanover College in their first match. Distler led the Centre defense by holding Hanover to a shutout. During the match Hanover was allowed only six shots.
Centre then traveled to Illinois to take on the University of Chicago. Distler scored the first goal of the match and the only goal for the Colonels in a 1-1 draw versus the Maroons.
In the third game of the week Centre took on Illinois Wesleyan in Bloomington, Ill. Distler again helped lead the Colonels to a 2-1 win. The Colonels defense allowed the Titans eight shots.
The Colonels will open conference play in their next match when they take on Ogelthorpe University on Friday, Sept. 25 at 2:00 p.m. in Atlanta, Ga. |
