Late game goals lift Centre men over Hanover 2-0
Centre scored two late goals to beat Hanover College 2-0 Tuesday, Sept. 15 in Danville, Ky. After dropping the first two games of the season Centre has won five straight games.
The Colonels and the Panthers battled threw a scoreless first half. Centre had 11shots in the first half and Hanover had two, but neither team could finish. Michael Hansford had seven saves in the first 45 minutes and senior Aaron Arndt (Madisonville, Ky.) had one save.
The game was scoreless until the 82nd minute when sophomore Austin Hall (Indianapolism Ind.) was able to find the back of the net off an assist from senior James Kuzak (Louisville, Ky.).
Seven minutes later Centre again found the back of the net with a goal from freshman Josh Settle (Bowling Green, Ky.) on an assist from sophomore Cameron Bayse (Louisville, Ky.).
Centre out shot the Panthers 25-6 in the game and also had 13 corner kicks compared to one for Hanover.
The Colonels will travel to Chicago, Ill. to take on the University of Chicago on Friday, Sept. 18. Game time is set for 5:00 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. |
