Horne tabbed to lead Louisville Lightning
Former Centre College men’s soccer standout and current assistant coach David Horne has been named the head coach and general manager of the new Professional Arena Soccer League’s (PASL-Pro) Louisville Lightning.
Horne competed with Cincinnati 1790 of the PASL-Pro last season, where the team made it to the North American Indoor National Championships in Stockton, California. Cincinnati 1790 finished runner-up to the hosts and champions, the Stockton Cougars.
He becomes the second assistant coach under Centre head coach Jeb Burch to be named to a head coaching position. Previous assistant, Mark Hudson, is entering his third season with Austin College.
“We are obviously all very proud of David," Burch said. "His attention to detail and knowledge of the game is exceptional and I know the Lightning have picked the right person for the job.”
Former Centre Academic All-American & All-American Adam Boyer, who graduated last year, will serve as the interim assistant coach while a national search is conducted. The PASL season begins November 15. |
