Men's Soccer News

The Centre men's soccer team was able to come away with a 2-0 victory over Millsaps College on senior day for the Colonels on Sunday, November 1 in Danville, Ky. Centre has eleven seniors on the team.

Centre improved to 13-4-2 on the season with the win and is currently 7-2-1 in the SCAC.

Both teams battled back in forth in the first half with neither team coming away with a goal. Centre held the advantage in shots with 12 versus Millsaps three.

Centre would dominate the second half of play as they were on the offense for a majority of the half. Freshman Ryan Garvey (Louisville, Ky.) would score the Colonels first goal 67:49 into the game off an assist from freshman Will Frentz (Louisville, Ky.) to put Centre up 1-0.

The Colonels would continue on the attack after the first goal and with less than four minutes to go in the game senior Patrick Hall (Indianapolis, Ind.) would put the game away with a goal on a penalty kick.

In Centre's 2-0 win the Colonels would have 28 shots and eight corner kicks. Millsaps had five shots and one corner kick.

Senior Aaron Arndt (Madisonville, Ky.) recorded his third straight shutout.

"This is our third shutout in a row and I am happy to see Arndt back in form. We are firing on all cylinders right now and I am really happy with our team," head coach Jeb Burch said.

Centre will play there last regular season match on the road on Saturday, November 1 against DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind. Kick-off is set for 5:30 p.m.
