SCAC Offensive Player of the Week awarded to Hinton
Following another win of the Bob Allen Nissan Classic, Centre College senior Richard Hinton (Ft. Wayne, Ind.) has been named the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) Offensive Player of the Week for matches played from Monday, Sept. 7 through Sunday, Sept. 13.
Hinton continued his scoring ways over the weekend as Centre claimed the title of the 20th Annual Classic hosted by Centre in Danville, Ky. In an important game against the Quakers of Wilmington College, Hinton scored the game-tying goal early in the second half en-route to a 6-3 win for the Colonels.
Then, in the tournament final Saturday night, Hinton had both a goal and an assist as Centre downed a talented Berry College team 5-4 in double overtime.
For the week, Hinton recorded three goals, two assists and eight points to help Centre improve to 4-2 overall. Centre will travel to Chicago, Ill. Friday, Sept. 18 for a non-conference match against the University of Chicago. The match is set to start at 6 p.m. |
