Colonels defeat Rhodes 3-1 in men's soccer
Two goals in the first period and another in the second were plenty as the Centre College men's soccer team defeated Rhodes College 3-1 in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC) match Friday, Oct. 9 in Memphis, Tenn.
With the win, the Colonels improve to 10-3-1 overall and 4-1 in the SCAC, while Rhodes falls to 5-4-1 overall and 1-2 in league action.

Just over two minutes into the second half, Centre struck again as freshman Ryan Garvey (Louisville, Ky.) scored off an assist from senior Chris Allen (Louisville, Ky.).
Leading 2-0, Bayse scored a goal of his own off an assist from Garvey to five Centre a 3-0 lead.
Michael Pappas, off an assist from Logan Eberly, scored a late goal for the Lynx, but it was not enough as the Colonels finished the match with their fourth league victory in five tries.
Rhodes out-shot Centre 10-8 and held a 5-2 edge in corner kicks, but could not beat the Colonels' goalkeeper and senior Aaron Arndt (Madisonville, Ky.) but once. Arndt earned the win stopping seven shots for the match.
