Centre 2 - Hendrix 1

Following a quality win over visiting Austin College on Friday night, Centre would face a pesky Hendrix team to finish out the season. A win over Hendrix would mean a 3 rd place finish in the SCAC and a 12-win season.

Playing the same formation that we used on Friday night against Austin , we came out firing and really looked to press Hendrix early. We would continually create chances; however, as has been the case over the past few weeks, we struggled to put the ball in the back of the net. Centre would completely control every aspect of the game in the first half, including a shot count of 9-2, and corner kicks 5-0. It wouldn't be until just over 6 minutes to play in that Centre would get on the board. Freshman striker Richard Hinton ( Ft. Wayne , IN ) would capitalize on a rebound from junior midfielder Matt Kowaleski (Dayton, OH) and notch the first goal of the game and his second of the season.

The second half would be much of the same, as Centre would control every aspect of the game, we just couldn't make that count on the scoreboard. Hinton would notch his 2 nd goal of the game with just over 9 minutes to play in the game, off and assist from senior Derek Roberts ( Knoxville , TN ). Hendrix would make one of their 2 second half opportunities count as they would score in the 88 th minute to put the score at 2-1. On the day, Centre would out shoot Hendrix 15-4 and have a 13-1 advantage on corners.

Today would mark the last game our four seniors would play in a Centre uniform. Seniors Derek Roberts, David Horne, Scott Daughtridge, and Kevin Brown would combine for a four-year total of 46 wins, 18 losses, and 6 ties. In addition, over that period, the four would combine for 42 goals and 23 assists.
