Terry leads Centre to 2-0 win over Hanover
Sophomore Allison Terry (Lexington, Ky.) doubled her season-goal total scoring both goals in a 2-0 win over Hanover College in a non-conference match, Sunday, Oct. 15, in Hanover, Ind.
The match was a make up contest, from an earlier postponement due to weather. The Colonels, which posted their second straight shutout, improve to 11-3 overall, while Hanover falls to 4-9 on the year.
Following a scoreless first period, where Centre out shot Hanover 16-3, Terry put the Colonels on the scoreboard at the 58:47 mark in the second period off an assist from sophomore Erin Menard (LaGrange, Ky.). It was Menard's fourth of the season.
Less than nine minutes later, Terry added her second goal of the match, her fourth of the season, with 67:30 on the clock. Sophomore Tamaryn Tuller (Prospect, Ky.) had the assist on the score, her second of the year.
Centre out shot the Panthers 28-7 and held a 8-1 advantage in corner kicks. Freshman goalkeepers Jessica Moreman (Elizabethtown, Ky.) and Bethany Pratt (Richmond, Ky.) combined for the shutout. Moreman made four saves on the day.
The Colonels will return to conference play, Friday, Oct. 20, when they travel to San Antonio, Texas to play the Trinity University Tigers. The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match is set to start at 6 p.m.
