The Centre College women's soccer team scored a goal each in both the first and second half and the defense posted its second consecutive shutout as the Colonels blanked Allegheny College 2-0 Saturday, Sept. 8, in Lexington, Ky. The match was played as part of the Transylvania University Showcase.

The match was scoreless until the 9:12 mark when junior Erin Menard (LaGrange, Ky.) hit the back of the net for the second time this season off an assist from sophomore Marina Hoe (Ewing, Va.) to put Centre ahead 1-0.

With 60:49 on the clock, junior Allison Terry (Lexington, Ky.) netted her first goal of the year for the final 2-0 tally. Hoe recorded the assist, her second of the match.

Centre controlled much of the match out-shooting Allegheny 20-7 and holding a 5-1 advantage in corner kicks. Junior goalkeeper Rosie McAuley (Fairborn, Ohio) earned her second straight shutout win making four saves on the day.

The Colonels, now 2-1, will be back in action Sunday, Sept. 9 for the second day of the Transylvania Showcase. Centre will play Washington University (Mo.) at 1 p.m. in Lexington, Ky.
