Women's soccer team shutout 1-0 by DePauw
Having never defeated DePauw University in school history, the Centre College women's soccer team was defeated again, losing to the Tigers 1-0 in the regular season finale for both teams, Saturday, Nov. 3, in Greencastle, Ind.
The Colonels, which have not scored against DePauw in the last six meetings between the two teams and eight of the 10 total meetings, fall to 11-6-1 overall and 5-3-1 in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference (SCAC), while the Tigers improve to 7-12 overall and 5-4 in league action.
After a scoreless first half, in which the two teams combined for only six shots - four by Centre and two by DePauw - the Tigers' Kristen McMahon scored the lone goal of the match off an assist from Sarah Hile at the 73:40 mark in the second period to give DePauw the 1-0 win.
The Colonels out shot the Tigers 9-6 on the match, while DePauw held a 4-0 advantage in corner kicks. Sophomore Rosie McAuley (Fairborn, Ohio) suffered the loss in goal for Centre. McAuley made two saves in the defeat.
