D3kicks chooses Ivey for Team of the Week
Following a week in which the Centre College women's soccer team allowed only one goal in two matches, junior Ashley Ivey (Elizabethtown, Ky.) has been named to the D3kicks Team of the Week for matches played Monday, Sept. 10 through Sunday, Sept. 16. 
Ivey has begun to play very well for the Colonels. Her awareness and timing of when to get forward in the offensive attack was rewarded when she assisted on Marina Hoe's (Ewing, Va.) second goal in Wednesday night's 4-0 win against Asbury College.
Ivey's solid play has been a contributing factor to the Colonels' strong defensive play. In three weeks of competition, Centre has allowed only three goals, posted two shut-outs, and also posted a goals-against average of 0.50.
The Colonels, now 3-3 on the season, will play a non-conference contest against Transylvania University, Wednesday, Sept. 19. The match is set to start at 7 p.m. in Danville, Ky.
