Ohio Northern blanks Centre women 2-0
After opening the season with three straight wins, the Centre College women's soccer team has now dropped its last two falling to Ohio Northern University 2-0 on the second day of the DePauw Classic, Saturday, Sept. 12 in Greencastle, Ind.
The loss drops the Colonels record to 3-2 overall, while Ohio Northern ups their record to 3-1-1 in the early going.
The Polar Bears Angie Pisut scored a goal in each half and the defense did the rest as Ohio Northern out-shot the Colonels 10-2. Centre had a 4-2 edge in corner kicks, but was unable to find the back of the net.
Senior goalkeeper Rosie McAuley (Fairborn, Ohio) suffered the loss. McAuley made four saves in the defeat. Centre will look to get back into the win column Wednesday, Sept. 16 with a home match against Hanover College. Start time is set for 7 p.m. in Danville, Ky. |
