Women's Soccer News

Centre College senior Lizzie Hubbard (Hilton Head Island, S.C.) has received the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player-of-the-Week honor for matches played from Monday, Oct. 19 through Sunday, Oct. 25.

The Colonels hosted Mount Saint Joseph on Wednesday, Oct. 21 and Hubbard helped Centre to the 0-0 double overtime tie. Hubbard would record three shots on the night with two of those shots being on goal. She would also help the Colonels hold the Lions to only nine shots in the game.

Centre would then take on Maryville College on Saturday, Oct. 24 in Maryville, Tenn. Hubbard would again contribute for Centre on offense and defense. Offensively, Hubbard would register two shots on goal for the Colonels. Defensively, she helped Centre hold the Scots to only one shot in the second half and zero shots in the first overtime period. The Colonels would go on to win the game 1-0 in double overtime. Centre would earn their 10th shutout of the season, which is the most in school history.

Centre will next take on Birmingham-Southern on Friday, Oct. 30 in Danville, Ky. The game is set to start at 6:00 p.m. and will be part of Centre's homecoming festivities.
