Hufnagle named SCAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week
Laura Hufnagle, a sophomore outfielder from Lexington, Ky., was recently selected the SCAC Softball Offensive Player-of-the-Week for games played from Monday, March 27 through Sunday, April 2.
Hufnagle had a very impressive week going 12 for 25 (.480), which included six home runs, 14 RBI, seven runs scored, one double and one stolen base as Centre posted a perfect 6-0 mark on the week, including a four-game sweep of Rose-Hulman to open the conference season. She also had a slugging percentage of 1.240 on the week.
The sophomore outfielder was 3-for-7 in a doubleheader sweep of Maryville (Tenn.) with two home runs, four RBI and two runs scored.
Hufnagle followed that performance by going 9-for-18 with four home runs, 10 RBI, five runs scored and a double in the Colonels sweep of Rose-Hulman.
Hufnagle is currently hitting .272 and leads the league in home runs (8), runs batted in (33) and slugging percentage (.636). She also has 11 runs scored.
Hufnagle and the Colonels return to action April 8-9 when they travel to Sewanee for a four game conference series.
