Colonels Fall to Georgetown
After completing their sweep of Franklin College, the Colonels were unable to keep their winning streak alive, falling to Georgetown 6-3 and 5-1 as part of a double header played at Georgetown College.
In the first game, the Colonels struggled to keep pace with Georgetown. Although they were able to earn 3 runs on five hits, the Tigers drove in 6 runs on 10 hits for the victory. The Colonels were led offensively by Julia Hubbard (Louisville, Ky.) who went 2-4 with 2 RBIs.
The second game was much like the first. With the Colonels struggling offensively, Georgetown put together a solid 5 runs to win complete the sweep. The Colonels had only 4 hits in the contest, including 2 from Julia Hubbard.
After dropping both games to the Tigers, the Colonels record fell to 8-12 for the season.
