Colonels Avenge Earlier Loss To Lagrange
Earlier this season the Colonels took on LaGrange as part of Millsaps Invitational Tournament and fell 3-2. This time the Colonels swept LaGrange in two straight games 4-1 and 10-2.
Following up thier two game sweep of Mt. St. Joesph, the Colonels extended their win streak to four after their wins against LaGrange.
In the first game, the Colonels defense was solid allowing only one run on six LaGrange hits. Offensively they were able to gain the victory scoring 4 on 7 hits. Amber Mills offensive production was key in the win, going 2-3 for the contest wiht both of her hits bringing runners home.
In the second contest, the Colonels bats went to work racking up 10 runs on 12 hits. Multiple Colonels aided the cause with Laura Hufnagle (Lexington, Ky.) going 1-2 with 3 RBIs on the day. Charlotte Jones (Lexington, Ky.) and Rebecca Rhule (Lexington, Ky.) each went 2-3 with 2 RBIs apiece for the game.
As part of their four game win streak, the Colonels have succeeded in bringing thier record to 12-12 on the season and are looking to slate a winning record for the first time all season as they take on DePauw University at home on April 4th and 5th. |
