Softball News

The Colonels rebounded from two straight losses to win both games in a double header against Mt. St. Joseph. After a close opening game in which the Colonels prevailed 7-6, the Colonels found thier stride and blew the second game open with an 11-3 drubbing of Mt. St. Joseph.

Mt. St. Joseph put up a valient effort, but the Colonels were able to outlast them, batting in 7 runs on 13 hits. Senior Monica Vonderbrink (Danville, Ky.) led the way going 4-4 on the day with 3 RBIs on a day that saw seven different Colonels get hits.

The second game was much different with the Colonels knocking in 11 runs on 12 hits. Vonderbrink continued her stellar preformance at the plate going 2-4 including a homerun to amass an incredible 5 RBIs for the contest. Rebecca Rhule (Lexington, Ky.) also had a fine day in the batter's box going 3-4 with 2 RBIs to aid in the Colonels offensive efforts.

After finishing the day 2-0 the Colonels brought thier record to 10-12 on the season.
