Centre swept by visiting DePauw
The Centre College softball team lost all three of its SCAC conference games to visiting DePauw University this past weekend, April 18-19, in Danville, Ky. Centre ends season with an overall record of 8-25, 4-11 in the SCAC.
In the first game of the four game series the Colonels lost to DePauw, 4-0. DePauw scored two runs in the top of the first inning and never looked back in route to the 4-0 win. The Centre offense never got going and managed only five hits throughout the game. Freshman Lynda Stevenson (Georgetown, Ky.) was 2 for 3.
In the second game of the series, the Colonels lost 11-0, in five innings. The Colonels only managed to record one hit in the game. DePauw scored all 11 of its runs in the third inning.
In the third game of the series the Colonels lost to DePauw, 22-3, in five innings. DePauw scored five runs in the first inning on way to the series sweep over Centre.
The fourth game of the series was cancelled due to inclement weather. |
