Sophomore diver Hunter Hayes (Hopkinsville, Ky.) had a strong outing winning the 3-meter diving event with a score of 243.75 and placing second in the 1-meter diving event with a score of 226.80.

Sophomore Meredith Angel (Campbellsville, Ky.) placed second in the 50-yard Freestyle with a time of 25.0. Along with placing third in the 800-yard freestyle, the Colonels also placed second in the women's 200-yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:40.98.
"I was very happy with the way that we swam as a team and as individuals," Centre head coach Dean Brownley said. "Going into the last relay we were 1.5 points ahead of DePauw and knew that we had to beat them to earn second place for the women. Our relay went the second fastest time in school history but came up .8 seconds from the victory."
"This meet has gotten us very excited about the second semester and getting to see all of our conference opponents. We feel like we have a shot to be very competitive in the conference with both men's and women's teams," Brownley added.
Centre will take some time off to prepare for its annual training trip to St. Petersburg, Fla. Wednesday, Dec. 26 through Wednesday, Jan. 2. |
