Centre swimming and diving hosted their first home dual meet on Saturday, Oct. 24 and came away with a win over Berea College and Bellarmine University.

The Colonels came away with a win in the women's 200 yard medley relay, as junior Allison Galvagni, freshman Tayllor Vetter (Lexington, S.C.), sophomore Laura Walton (Lexington, Ky.), and senior Meredith Angel (Campbellsville, Ky.). came in with a time of 1:57.

Senior Alice Fleet (Franklin, Tenn.) won the women's 100 yard butterfly in 1:08.

Senior Ana McMurtry (Fort Wright, Ky.) took first in the 100 yard breaststroke finishing in a time of 1:15.

Freshman Kate Haase (Sammamish, Wa.) won the 500 yard freestyle with a 5:42.

Sophomore Molly Burke (Louisville, Ky.) came in second place in the women's one meter diving.

The Centre men also won the men's 200 yard medley relay. Sophomore Aaron Edwards (Henderson, Ky.), freshman Stuart Cowley (Lexington, Ky.), sophomore Seth Boone (Louisville, Ky.), and senior Matt Kaufman (Louisville, Ky.) won the race in 1:46.

Junior Brent Bowman (Allison Park, Pa.) helped Centre in the win with a first place finish in the men's 50 yard freestyle. Bowman had a time of 22.99 in the race.

Junior Hunter Owen (Knoxville, Tenn.) won the men's 100 yard backstroke with a time of 58.06.

Sophomore Shawn Malony (Owensboro, Ky.) was the overall winner in the 100 yard breaststroke finishing the race in 1:08.

In the men's 200 yard freestyle relay the men picked up the final win of the night. Boone, Cowley, senior Will Jenkins (St. Louis Park, Minn.), and Malony completed the race in 1:35.

Senior Hunter Hayes (Hopkinsville, Ky.) was the winner of the men's one meter diving.

Coach Dean Brownley picked up his 100th win with the men's swimming and diving team on Saturday.

Centre swimming and diving will next compete on Friday, Oct. 30 against Asbury College at 6:00 p.m. The meet will take place in Danville, Ky. at Boles Natatorium.
