Colonels fall in season opener
The Centre College men's tennis team opened their season Saturday, February 24, falling to Northern Kentucky University 6-3 at the Beechmont Racquet Club in Cincinnati, Ohio
The Centre men won two of the doubles matches and only one of the singles matches to start the season 0-1.
Singles
No. 1 - Felippe Rosseti (NKU) def. DAn Schmidt (Ce) 6-0, 6-1; No. 2 - Jason Kramer (NKU) def. Lon Hays (Ce) 6-3, 6-4; No. 3 - Michael Volkov (NKU) def. Hari Vasupuram (NKU) 6-3, 6-1; No. 4 - Kurt Collins (NKU) def. Doug Arnold (Ce) 6-2, 6-3; No. 5 - Josh Fudala (NKU) def. Dan Makela (Ce) 6-4, 6-3; No. 6 - Bennett Clark (NKU) def. John Cunningham (NKU) 6-1, 6-2.
Doubles
No. 1 - Rosseti-Collins (NKU) def. Schmidt-Hays (Ce) 8-6; No. 2 - Vasupuram-Arnold (Ce) def. Volkov-Kramer (NKU) 8-4; No. 3 - Clark-Freeman (Ce) def. Fudala-Cunningham (NKU) 8-3.
Centre, now 0-1 this year, will next play Lindsey Wilson, Saturday, March 4, in Leitchfield, Ky. The match is set to start at 3 p.m.
