Campbellsville Men Earn 8-1 Victory Over Centre
The Centre College men's tennis team fell to Campbellsville University , 8-1, on Tuesday March 6 in Campbellsville. The Colonels lost at #1 and #3 doubles as the teams of Danny Schmidt/Barrett Freeman and Aaron Pawley/Jason Chadwick both fell by the score of 8-2 to Beling/Tiu and Engels/Hogg, respectively. The #2 doubles team of Doug Arnold/Hari Vasupuram nearly pulled off a victory at the #2 spot but eventually lost by a score of 9-8 with a tiebreak score of 7-4 to Langheim/Valecullos.
Centre was simply not able to gather enough momentum in singles play as they lost five out of the six matches. The lone victory came at #6 singles as junior Jason Chadwick beat Yoder 6-4, 6-4 to record his first collegiate win.
The Colonels (1-1) next play Bellarmine University in Louisville , KY and also travel to New Albany , IN to face Indiana University Southeast on Saturday, March 10.
