2007 Centre Women's Tennis Preview
The Centre College women's tennis team enters the 2007 season having finished in the top half of the conference last year. Despite the loss of many of the starters due to graduation, the Lady Colonels remain enthusiastic and look forward to the upcoming season.
The team is led by senior Sara DeSanctis, whose experience and leadership should provide a boost during the season. Depth is a concern but assistant coach Bennett Clark feels that the outcome of many matches this year “will be determined by how well some of the underclassmen will perform.” Along with DeSanctis, sophomores Ashley Flesher, Molly Housley, and Katy Justiss will be relied on heavily to provide stability to the lineup. The relative youth of the Lady Colonels will put more of an emphasis on individual progress throughout the season. A focus on conditioning and doubles strategy are two areas that should result in positive outcomes this year.
