Lisa H. Owens took over the Centre College men's and women's track teams in 2001 after being the assistant men's and women's track coach since 1998. Owens graduated from Berea College in 1996 where she earned a bachelors degree in Physical Education and a minor in Nutrition. While at Berea, Owens earned varsity letters in cross country, track, and tennis. The three-time high school state track champion also once held nine school records in track at Berea. In 1995 Owens was invited to compete on the NAIA International Track & Field team where whe toured and competed in Europe. She earned a masters degree in Sports Administration from Eastern Kentucky University in 2000. Owens is also the Head men's and women's cross country coach.Coach Owens plans on continuing and improving upon the success of both track programs.

"Our athletes are very talented and dedicated to this sport that they love; they are also some of the top academic students in the nation, which makes for a great combination. I will work hard to continue to recruit the right student athletes that will meet our need both in the classroom and on the track."

Coach Owens married her husband Scott in June of 1998. They have one daughter Meghan and one son Cameron.


Todd Frakes

Todd Frakes is a 1999 graduate of Centre College and a product of Indian Hill High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. Frakes came to Centre after coaching for 2 years at his high school alma mater, Indian Hill. While coaching at Indian Hill, Coach Frakes completed his master's degree in economics at the University of Cincinnati.

As a player at Centre, Frakes was a team captain and an all-conference safety for the Colonels. Over the past two years while coaching at Centre, Frakes has worked with six all-conference defensive backs.

Frakes is also an assistant coach on Centre's men's and women's track team. He works with the 100, 200, and 400-meter sprinters.


Greg Hardy

Greg Hardy is in his second year on the Centre staff. He graduated from Wheaton (IL) College where he majored in history. He is the new throws coach for the men's and womens's track and field team.

At Wheaton , he served as a student assistant football coach, helping with the offensive line. He was the coach of the offensive line this past fall for the football team. He resides in Danville with his wife, Abigail.

Ryan New is entering his first season at Centre College as assistant cross-country and track coach. He is a 2004 graduate from Centre, where he competed on the varsity track team all four years. He was a four time SCAC conference champion and made the All-SCAC team ten times. In 2004 he was also a national provisional qualifier in the 400m dash. He currently holds seven school track records for Centre. In his final season he was named SCAC Track & Field Athlete of the Year, received the Centre Male Athlete of the Year award, and was voted MVP by his track team

James Booker is starting his second year at his alma mater assisting with the Track & Field team as well as the Men's Basketball team. Coach Booker was a four-year letter winner in Track & Field and was a three-time all-conference runner in the 100 and 200 meter sprints. In 2003, he was the 200 meter champion. He is also a member of two relay teams that currently hold school records. The Louisville native was also voted as Centre's Co-Male Athlete of the Year in 2003-2004.
