Cheek Field and Farris Stadium
Home to the Colonel Football and Track teams, Cheek Field and Farris Stadium were built in 1923. The complex received a facelift in the summer of 2004. A new vented latex track surfaced with Track Top 2000 3/8 rubber replaced the old surface. The long jump runways and pits have been replaced. We now have new state-of-the-art hurdles to go along with a new steeplechase pit. A new dual shot put pad with concrete boarders has also been installed. In addition to the NCAA regulation football field, Cheek also contains a six-lane rubberized track for varsity practice. The track is also available for walking and running when the field is not in use. Along with our renovations outside, Sutcliffe hall is to be opened in March, featuring a three-lane training track with synthetic surface, weight rooms, fitness areas, and basketball ball and tennis courts.
