Centre College sophomore Chrys Jones (Harrodsburg, Ky.) became the 19th Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference student-athlete to win an individual national title by winning the triple jump with a new Don Drumm Stadium record 50 feet, 3 1/4 inches at the 2009 NCAA Division III Men’s Outdoor Track and Field Championships, hosted by Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. Triple jumper Chrys Jones went 49'-07.75" to finish just behind two NCAA Division I athletes. Jones missed finishing in second place by less than one inch.

Sophomore Chrys Jones has qualified for the NCAA Division III Indoor Track meet in the triple jump for the second straight year. The meet will be held on the campus of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology on March 13-14.
